I am the president of SASA and currently a third-year student specializing in political science, majoring in criminology and a minor in ethics, law, and society. love taking long walks and I'm always up for conversations that dwell into the big philosophical questions! I formed SASA to give South Asians a platform to make new friends and to empower their voices!
Advait Shanker
Co-President
I am the co-president for SASA and I am currently a third-year economics and poli sci student. One of the reasons we founded SASA was in the hope to create a home away from home for South Asians on campus. I love having conversations that help me connect with someone on a deeper level. I also love travelling and wandering around cities aimlessly. I am excited to have the opportunity to express South Asia and its cultures with SASA.

I am a third-year international student from Mumbai, India specializing in Financial Economics and majoring in Statistics and the head of the board for SASA! A fun fact about me is that I laugh at everything and I generally crack lame jokes :) I am excited to be co-founding and working as the head of the board with SASA and I hope to create a fun & welcoming community for everyone at UTM!

I am the VP of equity for SASA and I am a third-year student majoring in psychology and anthropology. I joined SASA to learn more about the region I'm from and to get to know others at UTM who are from the same region. I hope to help establish SASA as a group that is inclusive for all who choose to join. Also, I enjoy travelling and I have been to 37 countries!

I am the VP of Equity for SASA and I am currently a third-year student studying CCIT, PWC, and History! A fun fact about me is that I am obsessed with history, particularly anything related to revolutions. I can't wait to get this year started and bring a little bit of South Asian flair to UTM with you all this year.

I am the VP of marketing for SASA this year and I am a third year student majoring in Statistics with a minor in computer science and sociology. I have a great passion for baking and I have an unhealthy obsession with Kpop and watching Kdramas :) I joined SASA because I want to explore the different cultures of South Asia and meet new people!

I am in my third year of specializing in Digital Enterprise Management and I am the VP of Social Media for SASA this year! I am passionate about social work, marketing, and communications. I'm excited to lead the social media team and let's have a geat year!

I'm in my third year studying Economics and Criminology and Law. I am the VP of events for SASA and I am thrilled to be a part of the team that promotes and beautifies the diversity in South Asia. Also, I am fond of reading and painting. I am so excited to be a part of the team this year and I can't wait for you all to enjoy the events we have in store for you! We have a year full of cultural events and awareness/fundraising programs!

I am in my second year pursuing Economics and currently the VP of communications. am passionate about Economics and its applications in the financial world and my interests range from gaming, investing, and watching sporting events. I hope to spread awareness about the various south Asian cultures and bring the community together at UTM.

I am the VP of internal for SASA and I am studying a double major in Applied Statistics and Mathematical Science. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball. I love socializing and meeting new people, if you would like to chat about anything do message me! I love colouring my hair, I have a new hair colour every three months or so :).

I'm doing a statistics major with a double minor in Math and Computer Science heading into my third year here at UTM. I'm also the secretary for this year's SASA executive team. I enjoy watching TV, travelling and meeting new people :) I look forward to meeting you guys at events and raising awareness about the many issues which impact the South Asian community.

My name is Bilal Warraich and I’m a finance associate. I’m currently in my third year pursuing an accounting specialist and a major in economics, with aspirations to pursue the CPA designation.
I’m a finance associate at SASA and I decided to join this organization as I felt it was very unique and promoted a united South Asian identity. In my spare time, I like to invest in stocks and cryptocurrencies. I also love playing hockey.
